Free Prague Public Transport with a Child Under 3: What Proof Do You Need?
A quick tip for parents • Prague public transport
A handy tip for travelling with little ones: one person accompanying a child under 3 can travel for free on Prague public transport. The entitlement is tied to the child, not the stroller — you do not need to bring one. Only one accompanying person per child can use this benefit.
At a ticket inspection, show the child's PID “Dítě do 3 let” card, national identity card or passport. You do not need a special PID card if you carry either of those identity documents for the child. A birth certificate or health insurance card alone is not sufficient; without accepted proof, the accompanying person must buy a full-price ticket.
Valid within Prague in zones P, 0 and B, including PID trains. Airport Express (AE) and outer tariff zones are excluded. Eligibility lasts until the day before the child's third birthday.
