My Weekly Running Training
Prague
At the moment, we walk around 60 km a week with the stroller and baby carrier, which gives me a solid base. There’s less running now because the little one no longer wants to spend so much time sitting—and he has plenty of expressions for his sweaty dad pushing the stroller—but I still manage more than 40 km a week.
That usually means two longer easy runs of 10–12 km, one group session focused mainly on intervals, one solo interval workout—the latest was 16 × 400 m at 4:00 min/km—and one tempo run. That’s my typical week.
I’d like to increase the volume, but time is the main challenge. Instead of walking, I’m planning slow running transfers between nice places where he can stop and play. We’ll see. Plans are one thing; reality is another.
