When Running Has to Wait: Strength, Recovery and Time Outside with My Baby
Can’t Outrun Parenthood • finding the way back to movement
After months of running with a stroller, I had to stop. A foot injury has temporarily taken running away from me—but not movement, parenthood or the determination to come back stronger.
The gym isn’t about chasing personal bests right now. It has become my workshop for rebuilding: controlled strength training, stability, work on weaker areas and recovery designed to gradually restore confidence in movement.
Then comes the other part of the day: time outside with my baby. Walks, playgrounds, fresh air and a reminder that movement doesn’t always need a pace, a distance or a result in an app. Sometimes, the most important thing is simply getting outside and spending time together.
Recovery and parenthood have something in common. Progress is rarely linear, plans change constantly, and on some days a small step in the right direction is enough.
This video captures my current reality: strength training, recovery and time outdoors with my baby. Running has to wait for now—but the journey back has already begun.
